Position Purpose
Reporting to the Vice-President and General Manager, you will be responsible for leading the growth and optimization of operations for the Biron Laboratoire Médical (BLM) - Réseau division. As General Manager, BLM network, you will play a key role in our organization by diversifying and developing our operations for our many points of service located in Quebec and outside Quebec. You'll combine entrepreneurial skills, business development expertise and a solid grasp of operations to lead growth in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
You will be called upon to make strategic decisions while overseeing general operations, drawing on strong expertise in the management of human resources, logistics processes and the development of services offered by our organization.
Roles and Responsibilities
Growth Strategy
In collaboration with the Vice President, develop and implement business development strategies, notably by expanding the point-of-service network, the customer portfolio, and via optimizing partnerships and identifying new business opportunities in the medical laboratory sector.
Operations Management
Oversee, with the team in place, all operations within the different activities (sample centers, clinical support and professional activities and project management), ensuring efficient processes, adherence to quality standards and compliance with current regulations.
Business Development
Implement, in collaboration with the sales force, geographic expansion in Quebec and outside Quebec, and service diversification, in order to strengthen the company's market position and increase its share of the industry.
Leadership and Team Management
Supervise the managers of the various business units, ensure their development in business understanding and oversee the implementation of high-performance management practices at all levels.
Resource Optimization
Analyze and optimize the use of human, material and financial resources to ensure efficient operations and profitable growth.
Performance Management
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of teams, processes and business strategies. In collaboration with the Vice President, develop revenue targets for the various activities and ensure that all amounts ($) and investments (OPEX, CAPEX, Maintenance) are covered and that support services charged to the line are consistent with the market in order to remain competitive. Adjust action plans according to results obtained.
Customer Relations and Partnerships
Maintain trust-based relationships with key customers, partners and stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service and developing innovative solutions to meet their needs. Actively cooperate in initiatives that promote collaboration and marketing synergies with other business lines.
Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence
Monitor market trends, analyze the competition and propose actions to anticipate developments in the medical laboratory industry.
Change Management
Lead transformation and development initiatives to maximize performance in a constantly changing environment.
Requirements and Skills Needed
⦁ University degree in business management, administration, engineering or related field. Specialization in the medical or healthcare sector is an asset.
⦁ Minimum of 10 years of experience in a management role with a strong component in business development, operational management and management of a service network (ideally in the medical laboratory or healthcare sector).
⦁ Expertise in business development, with successful experience in growing revenues, managing customer relationships and creating new business opportunities.
⦁ Strong operational skills, excellent command of internal processes, logistics management and operational imperatives in a regulated environment.
⦁ Entrepreneurial leadership, with a proactive approach to management and an ability to inspire, motivate and guide teams towards a shared vision, make strategic decisions, and adapt quickly to change to ensure business success.
⦁ Excellent analytical skills, enabling informed decisions based on data and identifying levers for growth or efficiency.
⦁ Excellent written and oral communication skills ensure a fluid relationship with internal teams and external partners.
