POSITION OVERVIEW
The Global Sales & Planning Director grows current customer base and creates new relationships with small and medium size customers, manages the overall strategic planning and forecasting of customers and coordinates the everyday sales operations
nationally and internationally.
- The principal objective of this position is to develop and help manage all sales activities in the national and international markets to obtain profitable and sustainable growth;
- Assigned to key distributors, direct and on-line retailers the GSD is responsible for achieving sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives;
- The GSD represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company;
- The GSD leads in terms of planning and forecasting, organization of data and coordination of sales meeting and shows.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts;
- Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customers' expectations;
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts;
- Proactively leads a joint company strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones;
- Supports the preparation and management of annual sales and expense budgets;
- Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis;
- Helps to manage all price policy modifications, sales conditions, and special client agreements;
- Manages the annual trade shows, including merchandising and samples, set up and overall planning and execution;
- Helps to lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES
- Achieves assigned sales quota in designated strategic accounts;
- Meets assigned expectations for profitability;
- Achieves strategic customer objectives defined by company management;
- Completes strategic customer account planning and forecasts that meet company standards;
- Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards;
- Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame.
ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
- The GSD reports to the SGSD/President;
- Enlists the support of sales specialists, implementation resources, service resources, and other sales and management resources as needed;
- Closely coordinates company executive involvement with customer management;
- Works closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution;
- This position may have direct report staff assigned to support responsibilities in specific customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Commerce or Marketing;
- Perfect English oral and written skills. Good French oral skills. Good French written skills a plus;
- Excellent in Excel, Word, Outlook. Powerpoint is a plus;
- Ability to plan and forecast;
- Strong operational problem solving and analytical skills in a time sensitive, quality oriented and pressured work environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task as well as to delegate with efficiency;
- Minimum of 3-5 years of strategic sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment;
- Apparel/accessories and fashion background a plus.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position requires travel in USA, Europe and Asia. Approximately 30%;
- Our company works with pets in particular dogs and cats. Candidate must be comfortable with dogs in the office at times;
- All prospective employees must pass a background check;
- Requires a valid driver's license.
