Our Client

Our client, Intermat, is a leading distributor in the mouldings and hardware sector.

Position Overview

The Plant Director is responsible for the strategic and operational supervision of all production activities. They ensure the optimal use of human, material, and technological resources while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership : Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate plant operations to achieve performance objectives.
  • Resource Optimization : Implement continuous improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to maximize the efficiency of materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Budget Management : Manage production, maintenance, and capital investment budgets.
  • Technological Innovation : Propose and integrate advanced manufacturing technologies (automation, industrial IoT, ERP).
  • Quality & Compliance : Oversee quality control systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Safety & Environment : Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Talent Management : Lead teams, foster skill development, and actively participate in recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Communication & Collaboration : Work closely with HR, procurement, logistics, maintenance, and innovation departments.
  • Performance Monitoring : Produce production, inventory, performance, and KPI reports using digital systems.
  • Change Management : Support teams through organizational and technological transitions.

Education & Experience
 

  • Education : University degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 to 10 years in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with ERP tools, advanced Excel, and planning and maintenance software.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Inspiring leadership, decision-making ability, stress management, active listening, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to mobilize teams around common goals.
  • Languages : Proficiency in French; English is an asset.
  • Mobility & Availability : Flexible schedule and willingness to participate in ongoing training.
