Our Client

Groupe Santé Arbec is a fourth-generation, privately owned family business providing services to seniors experiencing a loss of autonomy. Its network includes 16 facilities, six of which are privately owned, publicly funded long-term care centres (CHSLDs). In this context, the position of Director of Financial Resources and Logistics will be exclusively dedicated to these six CHSLD facilities. Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Vice-President (EVP), the incumbent serves as the primary person responsible for the financial integrity, corporate governance, and compliance of the holding company and its subsidiaries. The individual ensures the quality of financial information, oversees corporate and operational accounting activities, coordinates financial planning processes, and ensures compliance with the organization’s legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.

The position also plays an advisory role with senior management and shareholders on matters related to internal controls, risk management, governance, and financial optimization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting and Management Reporting

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the financial statements and periodic reports of the holding company and the RI/RPA division.
  • Prepare and review complex accounting entries.
  • Supervise the Accounting Technician.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to senior management.

2. Internal Controls, Audit, and Holding Company Compliance

  • Design, maintain, and improve internal controls for the holding company and its subsidiaries.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits and act as the primary point of contact for auditors.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Implement practices that promote sound financial governance.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Analysis

  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and performance analyses for the holding company and the RI/RPA division.
  • Support RI/RPA division managers in preparing their budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct financial analyses aimed at improving profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop dashboards and key performance indicators for senior management.
  • Participate in financial analyses related to investments, acquisitions, or financing activities.

4. Cash Management and Banking Relationships

  • Ensure optimal cash management for the holding company and its subsidiaries.
  • Oversee financing requirements and cash flows.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with banking covenants and credit agreements.

5. Corporate Taxation

  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation of tax returns for the holding company and its subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal tax obligations.
  • Contribute to the optimization of corporate and tax structures.
  • Monitor legislative changes that may affect the companies within the group.

6. Corporate Governance

  • Ensure that the corporate records and minute books of the group’s companies are kept up to date.
  • Coordinate corporate resolutions, signatures, approvals, and documentation.
  • Organize and support shareholder, board of directors, and committee meetings.
  • Ensure follow-up on the companies’ legal and administrative obligations.
  • Maintain required corporate documentation and records.

7. Legal and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the legal, regulatory, and corporate obligations of the group’s entities.
  • Coordinate required government and corporate filings.
  • Collaborate with internal or external legal counsel as required.
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of corporate policies.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Significant experience in a multi-entity or holding company environment.
  • Experience in corporate governance, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Experience working with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.

Skills

  • Excellent command of accounting and financial principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal controls and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of corporate taxation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion.
  • Proven communication and coordination skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
