Purpose of the Position

We are seeking a Director of Business Development (DBD) to support the future growth of our company, which operates in the distribution of plumbing and heating products across Quebec.

This strategic role plays a key part in identifying new business opportunities, developing high-impact projects, and evolving the company’s commercial strategy.

The selected candidate will directly contribute to the organization’s growth by developing new markets, structuring sales initiatives, and working closely with senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new markets, partnerships, and growth opportunities in the plumbing and heating sector;
  • Develop, structure, and lead strategic projects over the medium and long term;
  • Contribute to establishing a structured vision for sales and business development;
  • Participate in the development and evolution of the company’s growth strategy;
  • Work closely with various leadership teams to align development initiatives;
  • Support senior management in defining the company’s vision and driving its evolution.

  • Responsible for developing new business opportunities;
  • Direct contribution to growth and strategic sales initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 10 years of experience in sales, business development, and commercial strategy, ideally in distribution, plumbing, heating, or a related sector;
  • 5 years of management experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree (asset) in a field related to the role;
  • Strong knowledge of the Quebec market and its networks;
  • Strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and ability to build long-term partnerships;
  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented profile;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills;
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams;
  • Autonomy, rigor, and strong results orientation.

Main Challenges of the Role

  • Quickly establish credibility and build lasting relationships of trust with shareholders, managers, and all teams;
  • Identify and execute new growth drivers by developing strategic partnerships, new markets, and value-creating initiatives;
  • Support the company’s evolution in a transitional context by contributing to the structuring of its vision, governance, and strategic priorities.
